My Sestina

I’m writing a sestina,

I’m hoping it will be decent.

But who knows?

It could become a masterpiece,

But I’ve never written a sestina before,

I hope it won’t be to hard…

So far writing this sestina is none to hard.

This should be an awesome sestina;

To write it I’ll use the same words as before,

This is going to be far more than decent-

It will be my masterpiece,

This I definitely know…

This is easier than most know!

But it still seems to be slightly hard…

But one must work to create a masterpiece.

Only three stanzas, after this, in my sestina!

This poem is more, should I say, than decent,

Well it’s time for me to write before…

Now I’m back to before,

I’m trying to write things, you know?

But my brain isn’t thinking right, it’s not being decent…

This is getting pretty hard;

But I must finish this sestina!

I must finish this masterpiece!

I put so much pressure on myself to create a masterpiece,

And it’s the same as before…

I’m tired of this sestina,

But I know I won’t quit, I just know!

This is getting hard,

This poem better be decent…

God, why isn’t this poem decent!?

All I ask for is a masterpiece!

Why is it so hard!?

Why can’t things be as simple as before?

It’s not as  easy as it looks, just so you know!
